The NPPF at paragraph 109 states that, the planning system should contribute to and enhace the natural and local environment by, 'minimising impacts on biodiversity and providing net gains in biodiversity where possible'. The current wording of Core Policy 12 provides, in our view, too great an emphasis on maximising conservation, enhancement and restoration which is not reflective of the NPPF approach. Core Policy 12 Biodiversity and Green Infrastructure Natural England welcomes the additional point within the policy wording, together with paragraph 5.63 of the explanatory text, which requires that the District Council should work with partners to develop a strategic approach to managing Air Quality in the Sherwood Area, including the development of a Supplementary Planning Document.
